What is the Advocacy Teach-In?
The annual LMU Advocacy Teach-In focuses on promoting activism, community engagement, and accompaniment. The Advocacy Teach-In is CSA’s biggest social justice conference of its kind and consists of a keynote speaker and several workshops hosted by our community partners, faculty, and student leaders sharing various advocacy tools. This year we are focusing on radical kindness in a digital world by centering conversations around the most pressing social injustices in our Los Angeles communities. In modern culture, radical has come to mean “extreme.” However, the word radical literally means, “the root”--to return to the original teachings of. We want to explore the root of kindness, which we believe is justice. Our goal is to promote extreme kindness in the midst of extreme injustice.
